    Glass Pinwheel

As it turns out shooting glass highball vessels is thirsty work!

I’ll be glad when the shoot is over so I can get them off the set and put them back to work!

This one is great Terry and I really like the high key (white) background. I hope that you are sharing these images with the artist(s) as you are making their creations look fabulous with your photography

This is really terrific, Terry. I gather that the photo is for your own pleasure rather than for the glass blowers. I remember that they didn't want the photos to include a reflection.

    What is the tabletop material?

    Thank you guys.

The Glass Makers are seeing these Shane. I really don’t know what they think of them.

You’re right Mike. I’m doing these for my own enjoyment and to keep me from being too much of a menace to society!

I decided to work a little bit with the Translum material. First time I have done so. I gotta say I’m really liking it. You can light at it or through it, seems really versatile. In this shot I fired my background lights at it. In the shot here I lit through it on an opaque plexi tabletop.

The table top in this one is frosted plexi.

Coincidentally, just two days ago I moved my roll of Translum to my makeshift studio with plans to use it for the first time. Thanks for sharing your experience with it. Very helpful!

    Sure Mike, anytime.

Let us know how you get along with it. I'd be interested in hearing.

I really like this new image but I'm getting worried that, with all of your positioning and jiggling that something catastrophic may happen to the glasses.

    Thank you Christina.

Jack I can’t say that it isn’t a constant cause for concern! And I’ve had a couple of horrifying moments that caused me to cringe.

But in the event of the unspeakable and before I slice my wrists with one of the glass shards we’ll just do what we always do!

Shoot the pieces, swear profusely, and cry like a baby!
