    Highballers

Just the other day, my Favorite Glass Makers at presented me with two custom, only ones of their kind on the Planet, gorgeous cobalt & clear highball glasses.

They are of course hand made, signed and have my initials engraved as well.

They are absolutely beautiful pieces but what is more is they come with a sentimental value to me that is beyond description. I will cherish these for the rest of my days.

They have brought a smile to my Heart!

(And my favorite libation never tasted so sweet!)

Captured perfectly, love the image. Now put them away for the memories never to be broken.

    Thank you Joe!

My main concern is keeping Mr. Mike Buckley away from these! You know how he is with the broken glass!

    Terry,
I love those glasses! And the photo as well, great composition.
In my experience, glasses such as yours only break when empty, therefore I suggest you keep one fully libated at all times
It's a sacrifice I know and your photography may suffer, but better that than your glasses, no?

    Thank you Jack.

I agree with you. It will be imperative that I maintain the proper hydrostatic equilibrium! Well, you know, to prevent implosion!

Oh and hey Jack! My photography can’t get any worse but I sure can enjoy those glasses!

    Hey thank you Jon.

You know, I am up in the air on this one. Might be some unfortunate incidents involving cherished breakables and alcohol. But I can't enjoy them if they are stashed in a cabinet. Every time I raise one I think of the incredible Glass Artists that brought them about!

I think it is worth the risk for sure. And I have two. One to raise with each CiC member (including and maybe especially Mike) who would raise the other one with me!

To The Artists (regardless of the medium) Everywhere!

I will raise my assembly made, plain, boring glass with you. Cheers to you and all the artists

Nothing boring, assembly made or plain about tossing one back with an Artist like you, Jon!

How in the world did I miss this, Terry?! The next time you post a photo that I somehow overlook, please be sure to PM me. After all, it has been almost an entire day since you started the thread.

It is so nice and certainly well deserved that the glass makers made these high ball glasses for you. It speaks volumes about the relationship.

If only everyone could appreciate the difficulty of bringing out both the transparent and opaque or barely translucent qualities of the glass while also defining its shape. This is one of my favorite photos coming from your studio.

To ensure that both glasses remain intact, I'll be certain to admire only the photos.

An extraordinarily image... Should be displayed in an museum/gallery featuring of glass art. So beautifully sharp yet it has a strong sense of motion... I can't imagine how difficult that must be to do. One of my favourites of your glass images.

Hey Mike, thank you sir. That means a lot coming from you.

I guess one would never know what it means to shoot these subjects until/unless they spend the time studying the techniques and spend spend the time on set trying to get it just so. Not many who would or do. The Glass Guys have told me about the many photographers they have approached to shoot their product and who categorically refused to shoot their (or any) glass for any price.

The Glass Blowers have informed me that they are going to present me with my worst nightmare! They are going to get into high end handmade mirrored glass art! I'll probably be putting these highballers to good use try to get their Jury Portfolio updated with these pieces!

But if we broke one, I’d just like for you to shoot the pieces in the way that only you can! If one takes the dive while I have it, I'll ship you the detritus and hope you just do your Thang!

Plenty of time to cry later!

Jeez Christina! Thank you so much.

That’s a heckuva a thing for you to say to me.

I hope you increased your fee after learning that.
