I came to the conclusion that air shows (and I guess just about any other large crowd event) come down to four basic occurances:
People watching the event,
People just watching
The event itself, and
Food
People on right watching the event
Girl in the middle, I think watching me
Airplane flying by in background
Nathan's Hot Dogs...America's Favorite
Does it get any better?

The only problem is what and when to pick among the four. Hehe. I like the candidness of the shot, makes the shot look very "American". Nice!

Whatever you do don't do like me and get on the aircraft – silly slow shutter speed – background blur – full prop disk thing. My second air show was Shoreham (UK) last summer – just over 3K frames in six hours. Only about 50 any good – but when it works out it's magic – and very addictive. So be careful out there.
