After the harvest
A late autumn capture out on the prairie.
Grain stubble in the last rays of the setting sun under stormy skies.
Another image from recent archives.
C&C welcome.......

Re: After the harvest
Nice graphic composition. The layered clouds work well at emphasizing the horizontal vs vertical contrast. I suppose that a clear blue sky would have worked as well by creating a strong colour contrast.

Re: After the harvest
I keep coming back to this one ... not sure about the treatment of the sky. On the one hand the softness is a pleasing contrast to the stubble, but part of me keeps wanting to see more contrast in the clouds in order to meet the "stormy" ...
In any case, I do like it

Re: After the harvest
Bill, Thanks for your input. Much appreciated. I had looked at varying degrees of contrast for the sky. This seemed to work reasonably well. On second thoughts perhaps darkening the skies a little more may be beneficial........

Re: After the harvest
As much as I hate to disagree with Bill, I think that this sky is too smooth to turn into a more stormy sky by darkening it.
