The clouds are amazing John; however, the way the clouds lead into picture right corner, it's giving my eye the illusion it's not straight, yet I know it is?

    Hi Kim,

Also the curving shoreline adds to the tilted look. Thanks for commenting.

Now, that is a dramatic sky. When I opened this in lytebox it cropped a bit off the bottom and brought the waterline down to about the lower third which made the sky more of a feature. There appears to be a dust spot above the building on the right.

Great image... I adore the sky and golden light on the buildings. I'd be inclined to crop off some of the water and just a wee bit off the right hand side (keeping the high rise) simply because all the attention is on the beautifully dramatic sky and golden light on the buildings.

The angry dramatic sky and the golden light on the skyline are what this image is about and so I agree that much of the water could be cropped, perhaps even to produce something approaching a letterbox format. Doing so also has the advantage of taking the horizon off the centre line and emphasising the elements that do matter - IMHO. Well seen image though.

    Hi Christina,

Thanks for commenting, I thought about cropping the water but it does have enough detail and that bit of speckled light to keep it slightly interesting; I sort of see it as a bit of a leading line.

When I saw your title, I thought you are in Brisbane...when I looked at your shot, I understood what you meant. Both shots are very nice, John. Love them. Others had already commented on the rest of the shot so I will just shut up.

    Hi Izzie,

Brisbane's moniker is what inspired me to name the thread. Thanks for commenting.

Nice images; when i looked at the first image, the immediate feeling was the redundancy of the water body in front. So i scrolled down the screen so that i can see a strip of water in front; then i got a better appeal..... probably personal
I liked the cloud formations in both

    Hi Nandakumar,

In post #12, I mentioned that I considered cropping and the reason I left the water as is; yes a personal choice, however I can respect differing opinions.
