I think it's time to expand your comfort zone. I like the capture of the pedal's texture and softness and an almost spiral affect of the background. I think it's a very nice image.

Very nice!!!! This is an Osteospermum (African Daisy or Cape Daisy). It is a spring and fall bloomer when the weather is not as hot.
What PP did you do? Is the inner part pink as shown, or is it more a a denim blue? They come in different varieties. Don't be afraid to use less sharpening or use clarity instead.

I used lightroom 5 and P/S 6, these are the exact colors, no vibrance or saturation was applied, I used clarity and just a very small amount of U.S.M
