I've been fortunate to have had a few days away from the office and have explored some of our wonderful National Trust landscape. Here are a few of the results

This will be better later in the autumn as the maples colour mature



I was pleased with this shot as I've tried numerous times without success this summer to capture the essence of the full border



We dodged a torrential downpour and storm around Stowe gardens - fortunately plenty of places to shelter and as we had to stop I passed the time trying to get creative







This one I couldn't resist - the properties had loads of kids around, mostly really enjoying themselves, but one or too looked just like this.....

I like all these images. I have fantasies about living in a grand manor like this one. In the first two, the gradations of light and shade give a subtle large scale structure overlaying the detail.

The manor in the fourth picture is actually a triangular building which you can rent as a holiday cottage - not cheap though !!!
