    Watching the Ball Game

I don't do many portraits/people shots but I thought this older gentlemen watching my son's 5 year old baseball game would make an interesting shot in B&W. C&C welcome.

Very nice, Steve. We don't need to know that he is watching ball game; the photo conveys on its own that whatever he is watching is important to him for whatever reason and that's a compliment to you. Nice conversion also.

Like you Steve, I prefer to stay well clear of formal portraits. But occasionally an unplanned and unposed shot like this appears; and it is just too good to ignore.

    Everything has worked well here.

I agree with Mike and Geoff. It works well. Only thing different could have been considered was a little Local Contrast Enhancement on the gentleman's face, to make it 'pop' a bit more by bringing our a bit of texture. But that's hair-splitting. It's a good one.

Great shot! I'm immediately reminded of Geri's Game by Pixar.
