    Black eyed susans

I was in the backyard the other night looking for something with color to shoot. We have not had any rain for quite some time now and temps in the 90s for 3 weeks and everything is crispy to say the least. The black eyed susans still looked fairly good in spots so I gave them a shot.

This maybe a pretty common flower but photographing it can be quite challenging imho.

Get the central part properly exposed and you risk blowing the petals, or get the petals and risk underexposing the core.

As for the conversion - I am not a b/w expert but using b/w to correct for an uninspiring shot is never quite going to work.
