    Big and Black

A big and black bug from the other day. There were literally 100's in the same bush, and 100's in an adjacent bush, and 100's in an adjacent bush, and..... It was an awesome sight.

A group of them fought over right of way but the shots came of oof.

    C&C always welcomed and appreciated.

    Thanks for looking.

Thanks James. Certainly does require a different skill set compared to birds.

Hi Bobo, great captures! For the second image in particular, I am interested in the lens, distance to subject, and focal length you used. Thanks!

    Thanks Joe.

    Thanks Frank.

    Lens is the
Sigma 150mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM APO Macro (specs here http://www.sigmaphoto.com/shop/150mm...po-macro-sigma). Distance from subject was about 2 feet but cannot remember exactly. FL was 150.

Point to note is that 2 is a crop of 1 which has a minimal crop for positioning. I do not yet have the courage to go in whisker close.

Thanks Bobo! That is a mighty fine lens you have there.

Thanks Frank. Hoping that the decision to go against the Canon 100/2.8L was the right one.
