    Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia

Went shooting again this weekend on our family trip away to PI, Victoria. Couldn't resist posting some pics for C&C!

All pictures are either originals (except resized to 1024x1024 for the purposes of the forum), or originals with horizons slightly straightened. A few are also cropped... EXIF data is attached to all. Taken on my Canon 450D - 1.6x crop factor - so focal lengths here are not 35mm equiv. Here are my favourites...

I don't think you need to resist posting pics like these Bill. I especially like nos 3 & 10. Nothing like a great beach with some surf and not too many bodies.

    Thanks Chris,

I've gotta say - it's probably one of the most natural looking beaches in Australia. It's on the Bass Strait (the bit of ocean between Melbourne and Tasmania) so it's so close to the water and the local council has kept people from building on many kms of land - so you've got a wildlife wonderland out on the plateau, with the only modifications a sand footpath. I even saw a few kangaroos and osprey up there (we don't normally get kangaroos near beaches in Australia).

If you ever go to Australia, I highly recommend checking it out!

    Thanks Dave,

The sunset was spectacular down there - I just wish I'd been off the plateau when it was going down as I would've liked to have got a few shots of the sun at its very low point in the sky. Instead, this was taken on the way home, after the sun had already set, but luckily it kept its glow in the sky. Oh well, maybe I'll manage to capture the sun in the sky next time!

Nice collection and hope you had a great time too..I like the evening shots. Nice capture of the feather too
The first pic seems one stop over exposed for me. Any comments?

    Hi Ajith!

Thanks for the response. I liked the feather one too, but I think if I had the aperture at a slightly higher value, it would've looked a bit better as the background wouldn't be as blurred as it is. The sunsets were my favourite (particularly the second last photo). The first pic I could probably edit in photoshop to make the mountains a bit darker, but I didn't want to compromise on the blue sky or the sand by making it darker than it should be.
