Mary... or Lucy... either is fine with me. ;)

    This Picture Makes Me Smile

My 18 yr old son, ran in a 5k Autism charity run on Saturday. He was 1st in his age group and place 25 out of 321... not bad at all. When I uploaded the images from the race this one made me smile... both of his feet are off the ground. This is just before the finish line. It's not in focus... bummer. But, I like it and he loved it.

Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

Nice shot, Mary. I like how you composed the shot. Even if the main subject is a little off in focus, what counts was that you were able to capture the shot. Congrats to you and to your kid.

Thanks, Willie. I didn't realize it was Tye until too late.

From memory I think I came 195th out of 210 in the inter-school cross country (about 125 years ago!).

@ Mary - what was Tye's time? In my Air Force days the most common distance was "an airfield" which I measured at 5.2k by walking my bike around when it had one of those counters that ticked over each time the wheel did 360 deg (old mechanical counter). I think my 3 best times were somewhere around 19:27 to 19:31. I biked around whilst my room mate ran it ... 17:49 ... darn!

One day I'll catch you Stu Mc(you know who you are!)

I have to admire the distance runners, never could hang with'em myself. I was more a sprint guy. Nice catch with the feet off Mary. I think I would have been dragging both by that time.

I ran cross country but I was really bad - got dead last (out of about 200) in one of the races during my junior year of high school. Luckily they weren't cutting cross country athletes; I'd be the first to go!

He's very competitive. He didn't beat his time and wasn't happy... I think it's great just to finish.

I'm not sure what it was... I'm a good mom like that. I know he wanted 15:40 as that was just over his best time so far. Biking... yes, that's the way to go.
