Homework For an Online PS Course

This is one of my favorite flowers and was part of a bouquet my Husband sent me for Valentine's Day since he has been/is out of town for weeks... totally unrelevant information so I thought I'd use it for a homework assignment for an on-line PS course.

Not my style Mary (I'm a boy) but I think you have done a very good job on them.

How long did it take you to get the words in #2 to fill each line and finish at the bottom?

Thanks, Peter. It didn't take too long. I have a picture frame that is square and has that saying on it, so I used that for a guide. Or, maybe it did take a long time and since I have no life I just didn't know it. My husband left two weeks ago for a few days, and hasn't returned. I have hope he is coming home on Friday. My 19 yr old is away at college and my 18 is having a busy ski season (he's a ski instructor at our local resort).

You'll probably never reply again, since you'll be afraid of what I might say... sorry.

If you could write that with an Australian accent it would be even that much more fun.

Thanks, Peter. That made me chuckle. On-line 'friends' are a blessing.

    Your images are really nice

Lucy dog must be getting spoiled rotten with the temporary abscence of your family (as it should be)

On a more technical note, if you'll use the layer option of stroke and give your type a thin white outline, the type will stand off the background much better...either that, or find a complemetary color (yellow comes to mind since it is across the color wheel from violet- purple-mauve) and use that in place of black. But, even that I would tend toward outlining in black so it would stand off the white background.
Good idea and nice execution...just another tip for making a stronger image.

Thank you, Chris. I will open it back up and play around with your suggestions.... assuming I can figure our the outline. The color change I can do.

Okay, so I open it up... I saved it as a PSD... flattened. Duh. But, on the bright side, now I have something to do today.

If you are using Photoshop, go to the layers menu and choose Layer Styles and from that, choose outline...it is pretty straight forward in its instructions...you can also access Drop Shaow from there and it too is easy to understand as you can watch the transformation as you do it.
