Wow, Mel. Your image is really awesome. The exposure and the water movement is nicely captured. Good work! 5 thumbs to you!

I forgot to say... A big welcome to CiC!

Very nice, I like how you have managed to capture the fast flowing upper springs and created the softer effect on the lower falls.

Hi Mel and welcome to CiC.

If you want some negative comments I suggest you post an image that has something bad in it - but not this one.

I particularly like the depth (third dimension) you have achieved in the shot and like John (Shadowman) says how you captured the silky movement in the bottom of the falls but not at the top. I assume it has to do will flow rates and distance from the camera. The iamge is also beautifully sharp throughout.

The other thing you have to do is also add comments to others posts as we also learn from your observations as well as your images.

    Well done.

You could probably add a nice frame to your images if you want, Mel. It would make your images nicely presented. Just a suggestion.

    Hi mel,

I think everyone has said it before me.

    Mel--
That is a really, really strong image, and I will add my appreciative comments to all the others. I like the 3-dimensional feel to it--the composition seems to me to be very carefully thought out.

I am also a relative newbie, and I think you have done an excellent thing to start with an image that you should be proud of--I look forward to seeing more. Richard

Thanks again for the kind words, ladies and gentlemen.
@jiro: noted. will add a frame on my next post.
@amolsan: hand held? no way. this was done with a sturdy tripod, 10 seconds exposure to smoothen the water.
@richard: thank you so much for appreciating my photo.

You might not have noticed a few blurred leaves. There was a slight breeze when the shot was taken.

Still from the same area but different location. Another long, 25 sec exposure, F/8, ISO 100, with B+W 6-stops ND filter

A touch of Paradise... my first post.

Bear with me for a while, Jiro. Still learning how to make frames

Oh, I don't think so! A photo deep, sharp, alive and breathing! To print only in the big format and any photoframes! Borders only narrow freedom, instead of protect it

Also very good image. Love the blurring of the water with the long exposure. What was your thinking about using a ND filter?

Hi Richard. I use the ND to make my exposure longer than normal and if I can prolong the exposure, the running water becomes silky smooth just like in the picture.
