    5 Wise Men

    Hi All,

I dug this out from a recent trip to Marrakech and decided to try a B&W conversion on it.

I saw these guys whiling away their time having what looked like an in depth discussion about something or other. I had to be quick because if anyone in Marrakech sees you taking a photo of them it usually ends up costing you some cash! I kinda got busted by the guy sitting one in from the right, but I like the way he is looking at the camera!

I'd like some C&C mainly with the B&W conversion if possible, but any constructive advice on any aspect of it would be gratefully received.

I basically desaturated it in ACR and played with the colour sliders until I was happy with it. I then took it into Photoshop, added a slight curve adjustment and did a bit of sharpening.

Willie or Jiro is fine by me.

I think you did good on the conversion. My only comment is that the highlight areas lost some details in it. I'd probably adjust the highlight slider a little bit. Interesting subject, if I may say.

Thanks Jiro... I have had a tweak with the Shadows / Highlights adjustments... What do you think?

Good shot, Tommy. Nice composition - five subjects, well arranged. I like the way just one of them is looking at the camera. Looks better in the edited version. Nice tonal range throughout the shot. Well captured.
