I love the beautiful, spare leaves. Never seen one (I don't think).

I really liked the way the tree limbs above it muted to this very gray-green color. I had to take it between rain squalls as I was afraid with the ferocity of the wind and rain, the leaves would fall earlier than they normally would.
I have really begun to start looking at the world from the bottom up these days...it is sort of like that thread of stepping forward, then looking back.

While it might look like a fairly large "tree-ish" thing, it barely stands 3 1/2 feet tall and maybe a foot or so in diameter. I planted it 23 years ago after I found it growing wild in the woods nearby thinking it would grow into this nice, red-leafed tree. It didn't, but each year, just about the time we get our second round of really cold weather, it puts out these strikingly pretty red leaves...then they fall off and they become the last victims of Fall..or would that be the first victims of Winter?

I so look forward to this coloring each year, I couldn't possibly discard it because it wasn't what I wanted it to be; it was being what it was supposed to be. it is a nice, harmonic realtionship.

Thank you for your comments. It helps to propel one forward when another shares their same vision.

    Ta dah!!!

We had one of these back in the day when we lived on a fixed plot of land, and I loved the colour, too. It was a yearly miracle watching the changes in such a mini looking tree.
