    I like the position but for some reason the pic doesn't seem as crisp as the previous ones? Maybe it's just my eyes today. I know I am very interested in seeing what comes from this cocoon!

    Nope your eye's are right. But it was no flash. Each day has it's own reality with this series and this time it was softness because it is a different shape and angle so overall there is less in focus.

    Brian, I like the softer, natural light approach. I do have a question for you though, the bottom (free, pointy end) is not as sharp as the rest of the structure; is this because it curves or perhaps because the cocoon is not parallel to the sensor? In either case, why not narrow the aperture a wee bit?

    I never can keep these things straight. if you mean why not go F/18 I have found F/18 is where IQ becomes noticeably poorer. And yes the cocoon does curve away.

    Thanks Brian - I've been happy to F/22 but it drops off quite markedly after that.
