    Landscapes first attempt, C&C needed

These images were taken with a Canon 1100D Canon EFs 10-18mm.
I am very much a novice with this lens and genre of landscapes, so any C&C welcome.

I particularly like #2, even though the horizon is across the centre. I found the whole thing well-balanced. I thought there was a speck in the sky, but it turned out to be a bird. However there are a number of white specks in the lower left. Are these artefacts?

One thing stands out to me is there is a lot of things floating in the pond/lake that are a bit distracting.
On #1 and 2 I think they would look better with a little less sky an a little more reflection in the water.
#3 my eyes want to wander allover the image looking for a subject. I have a hard time capturing this type of image. I can never get the camera to see it the way I do.
All in all a good first attempt, keep it up.

For me, #1 is a bit on the 'drab side' without any obvious point of interest.

#2 which is zoomed in a bit and a fraction brighter works much better. There is something of interest in the foreground with those reflections of trees and cloud. Maybe I would have selectively toned down the sky highlights just a fraction but that isn't anything of major importance.

#3 is OK. The bits of plant stalk intruding from the bottom left corner area are a bit distracting so I would either clone or crop to remove them. Maybe a bit of both. I agree with losing a bit of sky so perhaps a crop from top and left side; but only a little

Hi Gary, I don't know much about landscape photography, however I tend to agree with John and favour #2. The mid horizon certainly works for this shot. When moving from #1 to #2 in Lytebox, I get a feeling of gretaer expanse and openness from #2.

    All good shots.

For a first attempt, you did very well...go out and shoot some more and you will get the gists of the how to while thinking of a certain subject to focus on. Comparing the lenses used, I think I rather like the 15mm lens you used there. The other two are too far. My shortest lens is a 12-24mm. I recently bought a Tamron 24-135mm (I think) and now it is my go-to lens.
