    The Hole in the Wall

Seen while wandering around town. This is two-shot composite. One for focus on the wall, and a 2nd for focus on the scaffolding then layered together in PS. The shadowy area in the bottom left of frame is from the shadow of the building which the grey wall adjoins. It would have been nice to shoot is straight on but the building was in the way; and my efforts at straightening the horizontal lines on the wall made the perspective on the scaffolding look plain weird. C&C welcome.

A very attractive image because of your eye. It's even more appealing to me as a monochrome converted using a yellow filter.

This is nice. It's interesting to see the scaffolding appearing on the inside rather than the outside. The perspective looks OK to me, natural and realistic.

I had thought of that a lot --why was the scaffolding inside? -- to make the outside looks neat? Good study of lines ...

Needs the lightbox to fully appreciate it. Well seen image, well processed.

Thanks Mike, Tony, Izzie and John.

Izzie the wall with the 'decorative' hole in it is part of a building on this this side of the street, and the scaffolding is a building under construction on the other side of the street. See the lower right corner of the context shot below.

Thanks for the clarification...I think I have a funny thought of how this was done...very clever!!
