Manfred got one from there myself back in 2010, it was early evening, inquired at gate about wanting to take a picture, told all the sites were full, no I want to take a picture I said again, now you have to buy a day pass good until 8:00 pm it was 7:30 pm so I shot if from the highway.

I'm not sure of your current location. Jay Cooke State Park is a short distance west of Duluth and is showing some decent color .....and welcome to Minnesota!!
Thanks Randy - we're in Proctor, just outside of Duluth. It looks like Jay Cooke State Park is about a 15 minute drive from where we are staying; so something to consider for tomorrow. We're off to Silver City, MI for two nights and reports are suggesting the areas a bit away from the lake are doing very well colour wise. We were thinking about heading up to Apostle Islands National Lakeshore in Wisconsin on our way through.
Manfred, good news if you head home now Algonquin should be at peak or just past peak![]()

Nicely captured and converted.
I happen to like the B/W < I think it emphasizes the details in the cliff and adds a dimension of texture in general.
Nice angles & curves, I like the composition.
I like the composition too and the conversion...scrolling it upwards and cropping from the bottom wouldn't have worked to show the height of the lighthouse but this is a well balance shot...good one.
