The years roll by, but the lighthouse remains to guide the sailor

Now, this is racy, cutting-edge stuff for me!!

2 second exposure (Singh-Ray Vari ND used), during which the zoom ring on the Canon 100-400 f4.5-5.6 L IS MkII was given a twist. A bit of experimentation.

    Thoughts, views, opinions always welcomed.

Love the Intentional Camera Movement...so wispy and delicate.

Not keen on the heavy vignette with so tender a piece.

    Experimentation...? Always!!!

Plus one from me, at first I thought it was an image when you had that rock trauma Donald The years roll by, but the lighthouse remains to guide the sailor
It is the vignette that I find overpowering, the experiment and subject matter work though.

I like the effect, may be a white vignette woks better to give a dreamy look to the image ?

Nicely done, looks like a house transforming into a cowboy.

All of your comments have been taking into account in a reprocessing to make the final image. Thank you for taking the time to make them. It is appreciated.

Good on you for stepping outside of your comfort zone, Donald! Looking forward to seeing the final piece. Oops, I think I see it now. Should save my viewing for when I am on the computer rather than the phone.

That knock on the rock, has shaken you into a very interesting direction indeed.
    Nicely done.

    Experiments are allways nice.

    Just thinking loud.
Where does that vignetting come from?
If that twist only implies changing the focal length, than that would mean changing the angle of view. All the subjects would have shown a movement going to the middle of the image. My first thoughts.
I not only see a movement due to changing the focal length, also of camera shake.
    Pure technical spoken.

Added in by me in processing, although the bottom left is also a much darker area of ground.

Absolutely correct. This was done with the 100-400 lens. Touching that in any way induces shake.

The top and bottom edges are not cropped. Left and Right edges are to create the 1:1 ratio. I have my 7DMkII set up to show a square format on the back LCD screen when I use LiveView. So I compose for the square image.
