I made an overhead image of sangria a couple days ago, so I decided to make one using a more traditional perspective.
Setup
Imitation sangria (2/3 pinot noir and 1/3 water) and three acrylic ice cubes. Tabletop is white foam core. A large continuous-light lamp with all bulbs lit fitted with translucent vellum on the left side lights that side of the scene and the rear of the tabletop. A medium continuous-light lamp on the right rear lights that side of the rear of the tabletop. A small continuous-light lamp on the front right side back lights the orange slice. Small pieces of black foam core on the right and left sides of the glass are laid on the tabletop to control the areas of the sides of the glass that do and do not reflect the white tabletop.
Imitation Condensation
Same as the other photo: I applied surf wax to the outside of the glass, heated it with a hair dryer, smeared it as evenly as possible with my hand and heated it again to produce an even, transparent surface. I sprayed a mixture of equal parts of water and clear Karo syrup on the wax, holding the atomizer away from the glass to create small droplets and closer to the glass to create larger droplets.
Imitation Droplet
Aqua Gel (very difficult to apply to an orange!)
