    Tip of the abdomen may be fractionally out of focus, as often happens with macro shots, but the main areas are fine.

    Brian, nice shot, wow your ants are big!
    I don't know if this would work with your species, but I noticed that trying to capture wood ants here in the UK that they often stop when flashed. So, if your lens is reasonably 'fast' you get a second chance. Otherwise it really is a question of focussing to a point you think they might move through and go for a 'burst '.

    I could have used a burst. But look again at the title... Spider Ant. Count the legs and look at the eyes it really is a spider that looks like an ant.

    Composition/crop and colours, basically my post processing skills are what I am working on. Once I polish them up a whole bunch it will be time to go shopping for lenses.
