You might try darkening the bamboo to see how it works as it is difficult to remove it completely![]()
I agree that light and shade can often complement each other, Brian. I have quite a similar shot. By great fortune, the background and the stalk were in full shade and the flower itself was in full sun, so there was a lot of contrast in the scene. And yet the angle of the sun was such that the whole flower head was brightly lit. Astute observers can play "spot the camera-shake" on the beetle.
