Wine (Amarone) with thanks to Manfred
My friend Kathleen and I drank a different bottle of this wine a few weeks ago in the very last dinner enjoyed in her mother's home in Coral Gables, Florida. Her mother wasn't with us because she was in South Carolina. It was the last dinner served there because the house has tentatively been sold to a buyer who will knock it to the ground. Her mother is the second owner of the home and she purchased it in 1968. I was very fortunate to find another bottle and am keeping it until some time when Kathleen and I decide to enjoy it together.
I learned from Manfred quite awhile ago about very thin rolls of matte black aluminum and used one for the first time to construct a snoot required to make this photo. Using the aluminum is so much more enjoyable, easier and faster than any other material I have used. And it's reusable! A huge thank you to Manfred!
Setup
The wine is resting in a shipping container covered with a silk pocket square. A small continuous-light lamp fitted with the custom-made snoot mentioned above is above the wine and immediately to the right of the camera.

A deep and luscious 'homage' to one of my favourite wines Mike.
Beautifully done.

Nicely done (again), Mike. I'm glad the cinefoil worked for you. I find that it and gaffer's tape are two indispensable items in my lighting kit (other than the lights, light modifiers, stands, etc.).

Thanks to everyone and especially to Manfred for his suggestion of the black aluminum cinefoil.

Beautifully lit. For those of us who also have wine as a bit of an interest/hobby, the image perfectly conveys the mystery, subtlety and indeed, power, of a good bottle of Amarone.
