    My first ND shoot

I've been off this forum for quite awhile. Here is my first attempt at using a ND (neutral density) filter to blur water. A local dam was my subject. The river is running very high so there is lot of turbulent water off the low dam. This image is a two image panorama. Each image was created in HDR, shooting at 8, 4 and 2 seconds at f/22. I'm pleased how this came out. The HDR and Pano were created in the latest version of Lightroom CC (2015). I then exported to Photoshop CC (2015) for a few minor edits.

    Comments and suggestions welcomed.

You certainly achieved what you set out to do. With slower flowing water you will probably need to extend the time beyond 8 seconds to ensure a silky effect as is illustrated by the slower moving water further away from the bottom of the weir.

An excellent start I am sure you will find the ND filter a useful addition to you kit.

    Looks like it worked, Paul.

I'm a bit surprised that you went HDRI, as the scene does not look like the light is outside the dynamic range of what your camera can capture, but your treatment is not "over the top", so that works for me. The small aperture certainly ensured everything was in sharp focus.

Regardless, the lighting is nice, the composition is nice, the PP work is nice. I'd have to say your experiment worked quite well!

You've done an outstanding job. I really like the colors. Very nice.

The only change I would make would be to remove the white object in the lower right corner as it draws my eye.

This is not just well done for a "first attempt." It's well done, period.
