    Nicely done and you included a foreground element which gives it a bit of uniqueness.

    Thanks John... I am of the opinion that foreground elements anchor the trails nicely in most cases.

    That, I think, is an excellent example of a star trails picture.

    How did you light the tree and the land in the foreground?

    Thanks Donald.. Well, I was part of a group attending a Rural Portraiture Workshop in a village. We saw the clear night sky and a couple of us decided to try out star trails. A friend of mine lit up the tree using his mobile phone flash light so I could get a focus point in Auto Focus. I then turned it to manual mode and took a shot of the foreground using long exposure. I then set the intervalometer to 30second shots with 3 seconds between shots. This is a composite of 172 shots. I had to cease after this as there was a heavy dew setting in. Hope I have been able to explain it right.
