We went walking with some friends a week ago last Friday, in the lovely area around Sedburgh. We stopped at a halfway point for a sandwich and a drink in the tranquil surroundings of the meeting house garden. The place impressed me enough to make me go back a few days later to take these shots. The Warden spotted me setting up and we had an extremely interesting chat. I had no idea (in my ignorance) of the significance of this place. The area around Sedburgh is where George Fox, after many years of struggle against the orthodox church and the Crown, effectively started the Quaker movement in 1652. The meeting house has as a result, taken on a significance to the Quaker movement world wide. Something belied by its simple nature and tranquil surroundings. The external shot is a two image panorama (portrait orientation) using a 23mm lens because of the lack of room behind me. The interior shot is made using an 8mm Samyang fisheye lens with the verticals straightened in PP. Comments very welcome.
