Nicely sharp and the crimson curtain is a real eye grabber. In the end though I'd rather see a bit more building, maybe to the bottom of the window under the word "PRINCIPIS" and to at least include the top of the arch above that curtain and maybe even to the top of the column on the right of the curtain. Love the exposure, it's spot on.
Erik -- beautiful shot! I love that kind of red curtain and here you have captured it well...looks like a nice church to visit and photograph too. When you said "another shot of" this means to me there is another one before this?...must take a look at that too. I was so so sore yesterday from gardening, I had just saved some links that I like...will go through that. It must be there somewhere...
These types of shots are always tricky, what to include/exclude. Nice effort.
Thanks Graham - I agree there is more there and I played around with different crops and this one for me worked, I do see now how it would be nice to see more of the arch above the curtain. I used this photo on a 2 page spread for my photo book and it really came out nice in that ratio in the book.
Izzie - Thanks it was a nice place to photograph Many of the Churches and Basilicas do not allow photographs, but St Peters is different. My other photo is a standard photo (HDR) of the Basilica Here i have some interior shots as well, but to me this one is my favorite of them all.
Thanks Eric I did put a comment on your other post too of the Basilica. The overview actually made my mouth dropped. Can you take us on a tour with your photographs? Were you able to take some more shots? It will be nice to see them too...if you do not mind...
