    Tern In Flight

It's been really overcast here, wish this had a better background, but I liked the wing position.

It may be a greyish background but I've seen a lot worse!

At least it is a fairly uniform grey without any distractions.

I like the shot. I hope you don't mind but I was curious so I dl and added a very light neon edge detect in Gimp. If this offends i will take it down.

Very nice...but it need a little bit of eye-brightening, don't you think? Expanded, it is OK, it is easy to see some light there but it needs more...just a bit of nit, but overall, it is a beautiful pose as well as a pretty bird. Nicely caught.

So do I Barbara. That is really nice but I would PP it a bit more. It will sharpen. High Pass filter with some noise reduction on the High Pass layer works best because I think that this is a crop and there is a bit of noise. Lighten the eye and if you have Nik Viveza, reducing the structure on the BG will flatten it a bit more and increasing it on the bird will add some texture. I can post the result if you like.

Yes Izzie it could use a lighter eye. These have proved to be very difficult for me. They have such dark eyes on black feathers and especially in overcast conditions don't show up very well. This is one of those challenge birds for me. i am determined to get it right! So will working on it.

John please do! I am alway open to PP by others as PP is a real weakness for me. As I told Izzie, Terns are my biggest challenge but I am determined to get it right.

John I like it! Thank you! I am still working on the PP but still very limited on what I can achieve. I keep saying I will get started on learning photoshop but have yet to do so.
