A Yellow Jacket
I was out experimenting with my Minolta 58mm lens yesterday. I'd never purposely shot it wide open so thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad my Nex-7 can shoot at 1/4000 of a second as it was very sunny out and wide open is a pretty tough call. While I was busy shooting some flowers, this guy appeared and lighted on a plant in the shade.
I quickly got the shutter speed adjusted as the shade thru me for a loop. I did get him before he flew away though.

Re: A Yellow Jacket
For a grab shot, you did very well...I would crop it at the right to get rid of the white there then crop to suit at the left side...

Thanks Izzie, I know it's not much of a 'photograph' but I was determined NOT to come off of f1.4 while I was shooting, no matter what.
