    Portrait of a Beast

I felt privileged to get up close and personal with an endangered Sumatran Tiger recently in Java, Indonesia. This beauty was tame and allowed people to pat it and have their pictures taken with it. The money raised went to conservation which is not that big in Indo, so a welcome site. I endeavoured to capture the eyes in the first shot to connect so went in tight, while the second shot went more for a portrait. C&C always welcome.

Wayne...that was indeed a great opportunity and you pulled it of quite successfully, well done.
20/20 hind site...do a studio shoot with more lighting and more DOF.

Ha ha you probably could have with this beauty. I went big aperture by choice but because wanted to bring out the eyes. Probably could have taken a few more with more DoF but only had a small window.

What a beautiful creature and how lucky to see it in a way most will never have the opportunity to. I like #2. For me the odd angle of the head distorts it and calls attention more to the out of focus nose then to the eyes.

Hi Wayne, very nice shots,I especially like #2 I think there is a slight green color cast on the images but it can be fixed with PP anyway.

Thanks Binnur, I didn't pick it up, but see it now. I will have another play with it. Thanks.
