    Wine and the Letter "M"

Mulderbosch winery in South Africa is one of my favorite wineries, so much so that it is one of the few wineries I have taken the time to visit. I have had the bottle on the left for a couple of years and I bought the other two bottles today.

    Setup
The tabletop and background are one contiuous sheet of beige textured art paper. A medium continuous-light lamp on the right front is heavily flagged to light the bottle tops. Another medium continuous-light lamp on the left rear shining through translucent vellum brightens the far left bottle neck, adds a reflection to the middle bottle, shines through the two green bottles of white wine so the green color is added to the tabletop, and casts soft shadows on the tabletop.

Hi Mike I think this composition is not as strong as the one with letter -A-. I still like it for some reason but I really don't know why

Mmmm...interesting Mike the wine producers seems to have moved on from real cork seals to screwtop versions, just an observation. Long may your wine tasting and photography continue.
I thought of you when recently browsing in Ampleforth Abbey gift shop, I even took a picture of the object that caught my eye. I will have to get it off my phone and post it here. Watch this space.

Not enough of them in my opinion.

A lot to like about this one, Mike. It is so well composed, and your use of DOF and light gives it an appealing sense of depth. I almost want to touch my screen to see whether that first bottle neck is sticking out of it at me.

I think I have sorted out what I like in the image after seeing Mark's comment . I like the sense of depth in the image. I love the colors of the first bottle neck. Burgundy and golden colors look so nice together. Also the color harmony between the first bottle neck and the second is very nice. The blue in the third one distracts me a bit.

That's understandable. I'll be sure to speak with the winery about changing the colors on their foil.
