    Magical Woods

Happy New year everyone! I was tired of cleaning house today so took a break to go outside and take a few pictures. This is an artistic rendition which my mentor challenged me to go after (much appreciated).... Def better than cleaning house.

    ISO 400; 1/125; App7.1; 35mm

The mood is great, Kim. The brown leaves work well enough for me to appreciate their importance but not well enough to prevent me from thinking that the photo is a bit busy.

Why did you feel the need to shoot at 1/125 second when you could have used a slower speed and lowered your ISO?

Kinda spooky in a gentle way, Kim. I keep expecting to see a deer watching me from the shadows mostly hidden from view!

Thanks Mike, appreciate your insight and feedback. I was at 125 as there was a slight breeze blowing and the leaves were moving -- didn't go lower as I didn't want them to blur and I know that ISO is fine for my camera. Right decsion?

Thanks Frank -- I agree about the gentle spook -- I keep waiting to see a fairy! ;-)

Sure makes sense to me. Really nice job with this. You have shown that there are not bad days for shooting, only failures to imagine.

It makes me feel cold and damp looking at it so it has to be good Kim

i like the warm leaves/cool background color scheme going on. it feels a bit more eerie than magical, i'm not sure i'd want to explore that place without a machete.
