New kid on the block - kickass mirrorless from Samsung

It was only a matter of time before mirrorless cameras could be faster than SLR, and now it seems to have happened. Of course the Sony A6000 has been around for a while, but now Samsung is at the spearhead of new technology with a 28 megapixel backlighted sensor and all features surpassing anything in the CaNikon camp - including follow focus.

It probably has the fastest processor of them all, and the sensor is matchless so far. It seems to be aimed toward demanding amateurs and professionals.

Focusing is a hybrid system with both triangulating and contrast based AF covering almost the whole image area, and it has faster series performance with full AF than any other camera. It even focuses in lower light than seen before.

Of course you cannot have it all - still Samsung does not have the extensive lens line-up of the two major manufacturers, but there are more lenses coming. The two new ones presented with NX1 are weather sealed, and you can expect more to come.

My next camera might be a Samsung. Hasselblad should have waited to present the Lunatic...

And it's a Samsung, it has Bluetooth and WiFi verified with NFC, and all camera controls can be managed from a tablet or phone, with the image continuously on the tablet.

It is a serious contender to the most prestigious APS-C format DSLRs from the two big brands.
