Some truly great attempts there roger, love the golden colours in the latter 2 pelican sots but the angle of view isnt so good. a little soft maybe?
Excellent action shots with the exposure just sufficiently constrained.
A question on four good pelican fishing images...why the color variation?
And then the tern, it's soft, why, what's the difference...different lens, SS?![]()
Very nice light on the wings in #3 and #4. My best is #4 with nice reflections on the water![]()
The color variation is due to different lighting 1 & 2 were taken in the morning with a very bright hazy light anf 3 & 4 were golden hour shots. The Tern shot is just they are going so much faster and are smaller birds that this is the best I've been able to get (I have hundreds of shots that are worse) still trying for better.
Hi Roger,
Thank you for sharing. Extraordinarily difficult, and then some. My favourite is the 3rd pelican for the lighting, detail and the position captured...
nice series Roger
I quite like the 3rd and 4th, Roger. It is those 'ungainly' poses that the eye misses in the moment that I find intriguing.
I am with Greg here...#3 and especially #4. The colour is stunning. The shot? -- I believe I will have to keep trying many times to find that perfect shot until watching them and photographing their behavior becomes predictable or second nature...
