    Different approach for sunsets

    Or sunrises!

A friend specialises in extra large panoramic prints. And I mean up to 10 ft!

He had an exhibition recently where he demonstrated a different technique.

We know that capturing into the light is problematic and getting correct exposure often loses the full impact; or if you get that correct you lose fine detail.

Well what he has done is to print onto thin vinyl sheet, then create a 'light box' behind the print with some low voltage led lights positioned directly behind the brightest area.

Quite effective, particularly when seen in subdued ambient room lighting.

Seems very interesting approach! One day will try this technique.

Well if you ever 'come south' John, he holds regular exhibitions around here.
