    stars over the Mt Bromo

    I have not come across a night sky that is as clear as those over Mt Bromo. Maybe previously I was not paying attention to my surroundings before I took up photography. Anyway, this was the perfect setting to learn astrophotography and I did not come away disappointed. These are the results of the two sleepless nights and many more hours of PP. Any critique and comments would be most welcome as these are my first photos of real stars (pun intended)

    Steven;

    The 2nd image is excellent IHMO, even more impressive given that this was your first attempt at this genre of shooting. I think that the foreground inlet adds to the mystical quality of the image and love the composition as a result.

    I'm not a huge fan of the circular star trails in general so that clouds my judgement of the last two images but takes nothing away from the 'cool' factor and dedication that it took to capture them.

    By the looks of it you might be 'star struck' and I'm guessing there will be a lot more sleepless nights in your future. I will look forward to seeing the results and hope that you have a very understanding partner in life

    These are great! I'm not sure you've left yourself enough room for improvement.

    David, if you do plan to shoot this genre, get a fish eye lens. My Tokina 11-16mm did not manage to capture the whole vista of the milky way
