Your spider images are simply extraordinary!
David that is a stunning image.
I second the motion, David...that is a spectacular shot! I am not really into bugs at all, but looking at your spider with those circular black eyes (?) around the top of the head, are they really eyes? I should have had those when the kids were younger -- I could have kept an eye or two on them even my back was turned.![]()

Very nice image - focus, DOF, lighting all spot one.
David,
The first thing that catches my eye here is the contrast between the background and the spider. I love the subtle tonal changes and the shadows. They really enhance the sharpness of the spider's eyes and face (?). I also love the sharpness of the hairs on the spider's head and legs. The only thing I'd offer as a suggestion is to try a vignette. My eyes already go to the spider's eyes first, but a vignette might keep me on the subject longer. That said, this image is indeed stunning. Beautiful, and just a bit scary.

An Excellent image! What did you do to make him/her stand still on the flower and pose for you? wouldnt happen to be a spider whisperer by any chance![]()
Excellent!
Excellent; really well done![]()
Superb David![]()
Everyone else has pinched all the superlatives so I'll just use +1 to all of them.

Yes the vignette helped an awesome image!
Another wonderful little critter David.
Your images of jumping spiders make me a bit jealous as it's something I would love to achieve but to date have not. I have found a few small ones here which appear less hairy but also seem to jump when they spot a camera within two feet
Keep up the good work !

John,Nandakumar,Binnur,Steve and James, thank you guys for the kind comments, much appreciated!
Cheers Grahame,
I am sure you will get there, this little guy has been my best model to date, but like you say, they usually jump out of sight or they wait until you hit the shutter then jump leaving you with a ton of blurry images
