Ansel Adams once said: " You dont take a photograph, you make it"

So I wanted to see if I can make anything look interesting in B&W within 20 meters radius of my house and these are what I came up with.

Cactus in my garden

Storm Brewing View from my side yard

Lizard from the neighbour's rock wall


Plant in garden pot



Lake view after sunset - Although I was standing within 20 meters of home but the subject was a bit further away

#4 for me - striking when you first look at it and then if you recognise the subject you appreciate it even more.

Perhaps a little crop on the LHS, say half an inch worths - but either which way I really like it.

I really like the way you have processed these, Dean. The detail you have brought out in the 2nd gives those clouds a wonderful sense of depth. The 5th is my favourite: it is not easy to capture shadows on the wall like that, and you have made it very moody.

Thank you. I have taken a few images of the lake but no that many. I don't know why, I guess maybe because I jog around it 3 times a week and only when it really means most to me that is when I take out my camera and capture the meaning. If that makes any sense at all . Yes, there are other parts of this lake where things are a lot more interesting - wild life and vegetation but when the time is right I will capture more.
