Beautiful focus with a depth of field that seems just right to me. Nice image.

Re: Fly on a pansy
As far as I know pansy is a kind of violet...Very beautiful photo
I think lilac coloured thing is the leaf of the pansy ,but I will ask the same question as Nandakumar's... what is that crumpled blue thing the fly is sitting on?

Re: Fly on a pansy
Very nice image, David. Good lighting/exposure, focus is spot on, and good control of the DOF.

Re: Fly on a pansy
Hi David,I don't know very much about macro photography.IMO it is a very different and difficult aspect of photography and I'm sure macro shooters always look for insects around with their heads down
So,may I ask if this fly is only one shot or did you take more than one shot with different focus points and combine them in PP to get such a clear image.I know only a little about macro photography by reading and asking some people about it. I know that shooters combine photos in PP for macro but I don't know if this is necessary in every condition.

Re: Fly on a pansy
Hi Binnur,
Yes it is quite difficult a technique but it is all the more rewarding when it works
This is just one shot, what you are talking about is focus stacking, another thing for me to try one day
Cheers David
