The night after a snow storm

There is a big snow storm a few days ago. When it stopped in the evening, I could not wait till next day to shoot the snow as I planed before. So, I started shoot at my front yard after I finished shelving the driveway. I worked too late to get up early enough the next day to shoot the fantastic snowy view. Hope these few night time pictures can make up what I missing in the next day morning.

    C&C welcome.

Hui ,I most like #1 and #4..#2 is nice but I find the wires on the right side distracting,I don't know if it is possible to erase them with PP.#3 is not for me,the house looks as if it is falling down and there are so many bushes in the foreground. I like your photos

The strength of everything in the upper area of #2 would motivate me to make a square crop of that part of the image.

First one great, fourth is nice, too. For the first one, there is success with shooting up, along the trunk, at the canopy. Mostly those don't work they way the photographer wants them to, but this one is just great. I can't quite figure out what makes one like this special, and so many others a flop. Partly, in this instance, I think it's the fabulous light. Nice work.

    Binnur, Thanks for your comment.
For #2, I will try to get ride of those wires in PS. I need do it extremely carefully.
For #3, It's the 14mm lens make the house looks like that. It very hard to fix that problem with change the composition too much. At the same time. It is that wide angle lens made me able to shoot the #1,2 and #4. It seems human eye could not accept the leaning house/building.

Mike, thanks for your idea of square crop for the #2. I did from another file similar to #2. Here it is.

#1, I tried many shoot with a slightly different composition. The cloud also formed differently in each shoot. This is the final pick.

Much better Hui! When you compare this one with the first shot, you may notice that the trunk coming out from the corner of the frame leads your eye into the scene whereas the trunk coming out of the bottom edge of the frame tends to cut the image in half.

    Frank,
I agree with your comparison between #1 and Crop square version. At the same time, #1 is more intense and powerful. The form of the cloud in #1 has a a little bit mystery felling.
