You don't see the beer because his buddy is holding it and gets to drink it when the fail occurs.
Mocking birds are pretty bold and will attack almost anything in range of their nest. Me included. (Always wear a brimmed hat when approaching a nest.) This one is an Osprey who pretty much ignored it until it dried out and went back to fishing.
