    Day's Job Done

Another one from our short break on Lake Windermere. To me, this one cried out for a mono treatment. C&C very welcome.

Terrific image, John! Everything works wonderfully, IMHO. Composition, exposure, treatment, etc. Very well done!

    Hi John,
Great image which brings back some fabulous memories. Just a small note! Windermere is a 'mere' not a lake. Incidentally there is only 1 lake in the Lake District 'Lake Bassenthwaite' the rest are either 'Meres' or 'Waters'
    You image is great nonetheless....

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. This image deserves to be repeatedly viewed by many people.

Love it. Great texture in the background hills. I might have allowed that sky to be a tich less glowery, but it does feed the mood well as is.

What a great set of comments. Thank you all.

Andy, I know you're right but everyone calls it "Lake Windermere", at least around here.

Mark, it was the luminosity that I liked ( I wish I could remember how I achieved it) but you're right, the sky could be pulled back a tad.

Thanks again for all the generous comments.

    Hi John,
I know. I am from the North West and spent many weeks in the Lakes eventually becoming a mountain leader/ climber. I still say the image is great. I love seeing images of places that bring back fab memories - thank you!
