Re: Abstract, BW
Hi, Karm
I enjoy abstracts, and see why this caught your eye. I'm wondering if this is a cropped shot, and if your might have a little more of the image to work with: specifically wondering if we might see the actual juncture of the stone pieces (rather than the frame edge interrupting the two) and whether you might get a bit more of the right stone to create more of a repeated pattern and more black/white balance. I'm not at all certain it would be any better, just musing on how it might look.

Re: Abstract, BW
I agree with Kevin's comments. I also like this kind of photo, and feel that the balance between light and dark isn't quite right.
I guess I'm not a pure appreciator of abstract photograpy, because I always want to know more about what I'm looking at. You have piqued my curiosity!

Re: Abstract, BW
You so often come up with some really creative ideas, Karm, and this one is a wonderful example. Is the bright area concrete?
For me, I would crop it so the top edge of the frame just barely hides the top of the bright area, mirroring the way the bottom edge of the stone barely hides where the two bright areas meet.

Re: Abstract, BW
Kevin, Tony, and Mike,
Thanks for commenting. It's not a cropped image. It's not concrete. It's a piece of frosted glass against a wood panel wall. When I looked at it I thought it might make an interesting BW abstract. Kevin, I'm sympathetic to your suggestions but I can't carry them out the way I shot the image. Mike, I'll play with your suggestion. Tony, piquing your interest makes me happy.

Re: Abstract, BW
Excellent; only thing is that i wanted to include a bit more of the bottom part so that i can realize the singularity of the glass piece
