    "NORMAN" No. 68005

Went out looking for Autumn colours this afternoon but by the time I got to my destination, the skies had closed in. I ended up at a local Heritage railway. I don't normally resort to HDR but given the conditions, it's given the image a bit of bite. Might not be everybody's cup of tea.

I like it. Heritage railways are a great place for dull afternoons (and bright ones come to that). The HDR is good - I'd also like to see it in B&W

Maybe just a fraction less in the way of HDR for me. Or possibly try a little bit of Local Contrast Enhancement instead?

JUst what I was thinking: LCE might make this look almost 3D

Not really my cup of tea, but this is an impressive image. Great work.

I like it John, great angle for this shot. Yes the tone mapping gives it some pop but it's not too strong for me in this case.

I think it is wonderful but too much blue and cyan.

Thanks Kaye. It works in Mono quite well and I like it but I think I prefer the Colour version. See what you think:

Geoff, Kevin, Clive, I must admit that I'm not an automatic fan of HDR but I guess it has its place provided that it's not overused. This sort of subject and buildings seem to lend themselves more than most.

Dave, Nandakumar, glad you liked it. Thanks for the comment.

Steve, that is a real improvement. Thanks.

John, yes it works well but on balance the colour wins it - the sky in the B&W dominates a little too much.

Thanks Kaye. I gave the sky a slightly different treatment in the mono version and I may have gone too far.
