I'm a geologist, so I think it's great. The only problem is that by being to close the perspective has shortened the tower and I feel that it loses some of it's majesty and impact, but you can see the details of the structure of the tower. I looked back through some of the previous posts. I really like the one from the 9th, where the tower is partially shrouded in cloud. Thanks for posting, I enjoyed the images.

Yes, possibly try to move back a fraction to show slightly more sky at the top. Might need cropping to a different size ratio then?
Yes you are right, (about the shorten tower) but that is part of what I also like about the photo, it shows different view of the tower from the "normal" photos that are usually taken of this monument. We didn't see the tower for a long time on the hike and then all of a sudden we came around a curve in the hike and here it was! Thanks for your input and also for taking the time to look at the photo I appreciate it very much!!
