In my way of thinking I believe that it could have been a stronger image if the depth of field could have been increased and moving that focus point more forward allowing you still keep the animal sharp.

Thank you Allan for your suggestion![]()
Hi Nandakumar,
Yes, I like it but would have cropped much tighter. I tried this myself and think it improves the picture. Might be worth considering, if you have not already tried.
Thanks for sharing.
John
Yes, I'm finding that rather heavy and really sharply focused foliage in the top left corner is overwhelming the overall composition.
Several cropping options to consider.
Something about it makes me feel like the monkey, ape, or orangutan (whatever primate it is) is washed out compared to the rest of the image.
Is this a zoo shot, or in the wild?
Yes, he/she is definitely a oooooh as you say... Very cute. I like it. I like the composition and framing, adore the expression and that he/she is looking into the frame. I too, think it could be more wonderful with more DOF and sharpness in the monkey as he/she seems just a tad soft to me... But all in all a special image to capture.
The problem as it is I think comes fom the amount of OOF foliage... if there was less it would be quite acceptable as a small percentage of the image. A touch of sharpening would help too.
And thank you for sharing your monkey... I would like to see more wildlife photos...
Thank you for letting me know. I recently was very fortunate to be able to upgrade to a 300 mm lens and I see a definite difference in all of my photos, so much so that it is the only lens I wish to use... When I win the lotto I will come for a visit to photograph wildlife and give you my lens
that is awesome that it is a wild monkey. The wild life in India is so much more interesting than in the United States.
I like the cropped monkey better than the original.
The monkey apparently parts their hair down the middle.![]()
