Wow! I have always disliked Lizards. Not that I have started liking them, but this shot is amazing!

Very nice work Alis. Simplicity makes an image for me. Thats a very narrow DoF you are playing with there.

I agree with Steve, I see it was f4 at 200mm, not I problem I'm going to have! (I'm only jealous)

Nice shot, where/how was it taken?
    In the wild?
    In a zoo?

All the lizard shots I have done don't benefit from this kind of background or foreground.

    Cheers,

    Thanks, guys.

The setting is a concrete slab at a private docking station. The background is the ocean.

It is an Iguana. Shot in Florida. This is another one from the same series. I was going through my files and found that one:

You are right, Antonio! My camera was a few days old when I shot this!

Nice shots! The iguana has a good colour that you captured well. A little big for a pet tho...

Great work! The colors are so bright and bold! I love it!
I wish we had lizards here - besides at the pet store! =(
    Congratulations on a great capture!

Just to add my congratulations. Both wonderful, but the second is quite phenominal, especially when viewed at full size. The clarity is unbelieveable. I couldn't get the EXIF on my browser. Can you give us details?

Thanks, Cori. I love those places myself. Where I live, Boston, there is not much. We have whales but you have to take 50 anti-vertigo pills to see them, that is if you get lucky

Thanks, Phillip! When I was processing this, I was actually thinking about those colors. I used the preset WB option for daylight. From experience, we all know those are not always accurate. So, I was thinking what do you do if you want to print this as an educational material so that people look at it and know the actual colors of the animal? Do you use a WB card? Anyway I think what you see here is pretty close to it's actual colors

Thanks a lot, Donald! Here is the Exif:

    Canon 5D MKII using a 70-200mm f/4.0 L IS lens at 200mm. 1/250 at f/8.0.

The guy was moving too fast. Looks like he is posing for me but I was actually chasing him, he would move quickly, stop and raise his or her head, take a look and quickly change position again. My setting may not make sense that much since I did not have that much time to think

But don't mistake it with a Geico!

I actually called them a while ago and spent that famous 15 minute with them on the phone and at the end realized that in my case I was saving a lot of money with my current insurance!
