    garden butterfly's

Been away for a while for various reasons. Getting back into photography again now that everything in life has settled down to a more manageable amount.

Here are a few from yesterday whilst i was out in the garden playing. Please excuse my ignorance for there names but I am no insect specialist.

You have some easy ones to name there, Paul.

    #1 Small Tortoiseshell

    #2 Peacock

    #3 Brimstone

    #4 Another small Tortoiseshell

Some people are reporting good numbers of Tortoiseshells in the UK this year, but I have found few of them where I live. Even those few which I did see have been very 'flighty' and not willingly posing for photos.

ps. The bumblebee which is also in #4 looks like Bombus terrestris.

Cheers for that Geoff. I have just found a website to find out there names which i will use in future. I'm quite lucky that there are between 50-100 flying around the bush outside. I will try and grab a few more later if they are out.
